Superdry Philosophy
Superdry clothing has an extremely alternative feel (after being devised after a trip to Japan) and is an powerful newcomer to the market..... These designers aim to be 'that little bit of somat, somat' that you cannot find within the conventional highstreet market, with casual clothing that fights convention to the core whist still providing warmth and style. All of Suyperdry's clothing range have an radically different feel that does not follow the usual 'Auzzy casual' or 'blushing English rose' that permeate the market currently. Smart fitting, alien chic and flawlessly expressive are typical traits of the Superdry clothing range. An example of this is their classic endorsement by David Beckham... In his Blue Osaka T-shirt, a symbol that still holds merit within fashionistas circles. Most certainly a designer label to watch!
Superdry History
The prestigious Superdry label was founded in 2003 in Cheltenham as Laundry Athletics and eventually opened its first store under the Superdry name in Covent Garden, London and has proven it’s distinctive clothing range can last the has captured the clothing tastes of the naughties and beyond. Now with stores in Covent Garden as well as many concession stores throughout the UK, it seems pretty likely that Superdry won't be going anywhere except on the up.
In 2008, a nationwide expansion of the brand took place, with stores opening in major cities all over the UK. Before the expansion, Superdry clothing was only sold in the Covent Garden, House of Fraser concessions and Cult stores. Superdry clothing is now sold in over 20 countries. The products fuse vintage Americana fabrics with a touch of Japanese design flair.
As clothing brands go, few can claim to be as effortlessly cool as Superdry which has been seen on celebrities ranging from Kate Moss to Jude Law. Superdry clothing has a unique sense of style. The popularity of the brand grew rapidly and David Beckham being seen wearing the signature OSAKA T-shirts and BRAD leather jacket served to fuel its growth.
Not content with offering some of the coolest t-shirts, shirts, hoodies and jackets on the market, Superdry is not one to rest on its laurels and have branched out into luggage, watches and retro footwear. Despite being little more than 5 years old, the Superdry clothing range has already got more established clothing lines glancing nervously over their shoulders as they continue their meteoric rise to the top.
